Introducing yourself and your accommodations to your teachers is an important first step. Teachers are given many different accommodation plans and although essential, they don't always stand alone. It's important to open a line of communication with your teacher to make sure you get all the accommodations you need to be successful. Before you can advocate for your needs, you must first identify these needs. It can be difficult initially to learn what works for you, so trying out your  accommodations and identifying any additional needs you may have is very important. In the video to the left, I will discuses how to identify your needs and get them met.

When going through school with a learning disability, communicating your needs with teachers is so important! I have found that the best way to do this is both in person and in writing.
