Introducing yourself and your accommodations to your teachers is an important first step. Teachers are given many different accommodation plans and although essential, they don't always stand alone. It's important to open a line of communication with your teacher to make sure you get all the accommodations you need to be successful. Before you can advocate for your needs, first you need to identify these needs. It can be difficult at first to figure out what works for you, so trying out your  accommodations and identifying any additional needs you may have is very important. When going through school with a learning disability communicating one's needs with teachers is sooo important! I have found that the best way to do this is both in person and in writing.
